Simone Woodard oversaw the Rally Australia event management team responsible for delivering this significant $10 million international motorsports event, as General Manager from 2005-2007. Immediately prior to this (2002-2005), Simone was the Marketing Manager for this event.
Eventscorp Western Australia
R ally Australia is the Australian leg of the FIA World Rally Championship.
As General Manager and Marketing Manager for Rally Australia, Simone was responsibly for event operations, administration, competitor services, marketing and communications including sponsorship generation, ticketing and budget management.
Building and mainitaining effective professional networks with event stakeholders including the Eventscorp Board, FIA, CAMS, ISC, Sponsors, Media Partners, Sporting Council, Government agencies and volunteer groups was a sigificant part of the role.
Under Simone’s oversight, the Rally Australia Event was delivered successfully on budget, generating an economic impact of $9.3 million to Western Australia, and generating over $5 million in revenue.
The event was broadcast nationally by Network Ten and Fox Sports as well as internationally by NorthOne and Sony AXN to an estimated audience of one billion viewers in over 200 countries.
As Marketing Manager for Rally Australia, Simone :
- exceeded all sales targets with corporate hospitality and tickets selling out generating $1.4M
- generated $1.18M in cash sponsorship by signing new sponsors and
- increased contra revenue from media partners by 100% in contract renegotiation, generating a total of $2.1M in contra sponsorship
